| Roseanne Barr, one of the funniest comic stars of America, belonged to a Jewish family of the lower middle class, who lived in Salt Lake City. She was born on 3rd November 1952. For eighteen years Roseanne Barr lived in this city where she was cut off from the rest of the society because of her religion.
Roseanne Barr survived after being hit by a motorcar and later being in a mental asylum at the age of 19. She then joined a group of people who had left home to lead a life that had no restrictions and found herself in a town outside Denver where she married Bill Pentland, had three children and lived for a while as just a wife and mother. This marriage lasted for 16 years.
Roseanne Barr discovered the women’s movement in 1980, and also that she had a latent talent for comedy. She then moved to Los Angeles to pursue her talents where she was invited to do the “Tonight Show” which proved to be an immense success and started her on a very popular television series. HBO gave her her own show in 1987. In 1989 she starred with Ed Begley Jr. and Meryl Streep.
Roseanne Barr began studying Kabballah which is a Jewish Mysticism, after her third divorce, and most people around her found her to be very stable and focused after this. She also put an end to her hostility with her siblings and parents. |
